Queen's Baton 2010 DelhiThe Queen’s Baton Relay 2010 Delhi, a precursor to the XIX Commonwealth Games 2010 Delhi, is on its global journey through the Commonwealth nations. The baton and the international traveling crew will be arriving in the British Virgin Islands on March 22, 2010 and will be guests in the Territory through March 25, 2010.

The BVI Olympic Committee (BVIOC), in its capacity as the local Commonwealth Games Association, will host The Queen’s Baton Relay 2010 Delhi.

From March 23–24, 2010, the BVI will have the opportunity to showcase to the world, its sports-men, -women and -children, its beauty, culture, diversity and hospitality.

From pre-event publicity to official receptions and dinners and community wide sporting relays, the BVI Olympic Committee is organizing a rich programme of activities and events that seek to involve all of the BVI community.

The schedule of activities includes:       

  • An official ‘Welcome’ ceremony open to all residents
  • Sporting relays involving the spectrum of sporting associations and members of the public across Tortola and Virgin Gorda.
  • A grand cultural finale showcasing BVI’s traditions, music and culinary treats.
